JORGE AYALA | AY_A STUDIO

JORGE AYALA (info@jorge-ayala.com) was born in Mexico City.

Jorge is the founder of [Ay]A Studio. [Ay]A is an international studio operating from Paris committed with cutting edge research and experimentation, across scales. [Ay]A engages the field of design, architecture and landscape urbanism in both academic and professional praxis.

Jorge is the Director of AA Visiting School in Paris to be hosted by Musées des Arts Décoratifs. f(AA)shions will foster singular typologies intrinsic to temporal bodies and fluid matter(s).

Jorge leads the Landscape Urbanism Unit at the ESA Ecole Speciale d’Architecture, a design research engaging large scale systems and complex organisational strategies. His academic studio has been displayed in many online publications and recently exhibited at La Galerie d’Architecture de Paris.

Jorge has lectured in Paris, Rome, Sardinia, Beijing, Nanjing and others, led workshops at Facoltà di Architettura ad Alghero and with the AA Landscape Urbanism in the UK and China. He is a guest critic at Paris Malaquais School of Architecture and Cornell University in Rome.

In 2007 he participated in the 7th International Biennale of Architecture in São Paulo, Brazil and in the 2nd International Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism of Hong Kong/Shenzhen in China. His work has been shown in both academic and cultural venues including the Architectural Association and Fundacion Metropoli in Spain.

After graduating from the Architectural Association [AA] in London with a Master’s Degree in Landscape Urbanism in 2008, Jorge collaborated with Plasma Studio –London and Beijing- won international competitions including the World Horticultural Expo design in X’ian and Ordos 20+10 in Inner Mongolia.

Jorge Ayala is a Registered Architect, member of the Architects Registration Board UK and member of l’Ordre des Architectes France.
